OUR INSTRUCTORS!
We currently have 20 instructors teaching more than 90 classes per week. Song and Dance has
received numerous Entertainment Awards for Choreography and Costume Design.
Song and Dance has one Studio-wide Performance at the end of each year, an event our students enjoy immensely! We have one Competition Team that competes in 4 competitions per year and performs at numerous smaller community events and nursing home facilities. Song and Dance was also the exclusive rehearsal facility for Norwegian Cruise Lines for 4 years. JULIE MCPHERON is the director and owner of Song and Dance Inc. Julie has been the studio owner of Song and Dance Inc. since 1989! She loves dancing and passed that love onto her daughter, Darcy who now co-owns and teaches at Song and Dance. Julie began dancing professionally and teaching at 16 years old. She was a Dancer, Entertainment Supervisor, Belly Dancer and Elephant Rider at Busch Gardens Tampa for 9 ½ years.
Julie also danced and choreographed musicals, drill and dance teams for commercials, benefits and special events. She also worked as a Fleet-wide Wardrobe Supervisor for Norwegian Cruise Lines for 6 years.
DARCY MCPHERON, Julie’s daughter, is the co-director and
co-owner. Darcy began assisting with classes at 12 years old and has been teaching for 12 years. She is currently teaching Jazz classes and Turns classes, in addition to her management role at Song and Dance. Our 10,000 sq. foot facility was built in
2004 and consists of 5 dance rooms,
1 music room, a Costume Shop and our retail store, Snazzy DanceWear.
We designed and built the Song and Dance Studio with the community in mind. Our versatile space can be transformed so our 4,000 sq. foot ballroom can be used for various meetings, events, weddings and parties!
