Modern

Ages: Children and Adult 6 years and older

Levels: 1,2,Stars, Stripes, Adult

Duration: 55 minutes

Description: Lyrical is a dance style that blends elements of ballet and jazz dance. Lyrical dance is generally a little more fluid than ballet and also somewhat faster, although not as rapidly executed as jazz dance. Lyrical dance is also somewhat smoother and a bit faster than ballet, but not quite as fast as jazz.

Description: Since its founding, modern dance has been redefined many times. Though it clearly is not ballet by any traditional definition, it often incorporates balletic movement; and though it may also refer to any number of additional dance elements, employing a special technique for developing the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas.
